A Start...for G&G Beutler!

Here it is November 7th and I finally got into this blog once again and I will now try to keep it up.

Today is Robins birthday and if I may remenise a little ..she was a beautiful little baby to be named Emily but after she arrived ..she didn't look like an Emily so we named her Robin ,after a friend I had then and after my sweet sister, Ann.We lived in Provo at the time and she was a welcomed little sister to Dixie.
Now in her life, the past 12 months have been one of change..she has a family and is a step mother to 3 beautiful children and a wife to a wonderful man ..named Guy! We are so happy for you, Robin!

What a Geek!!

Last night Josh and Natalie stopped by and spent the evening with us. They also brought our newest grand-daughter Rhen. She was born March 9th and was 7lbs 11oz. We love the little ones joining our family. Don't you think Reese so much older? We are so proud of you guys Josh and Natalie. Nice job on the baby!!

Soup and Winter..... a great combination!

Last night I made homemade turkey noodle soup and made my own egg noodles. Last saturday I taught some gals from my sargent steam team how to make whole wheat bread from the grinding to the finished product ..we had fun and when the bread was hot out of the oven ...we had white bean soup. I love to share the recipe and so here it goes!
White Bean Soup.. Heather Page
8 Cans of any white beans (I mix and match these beans together - > Garbanzo, Chick Peas, Large Butter Beans, Small Butter Beans, > Cannellies (white kidney beans), Great Northern Beans)> 1 Can of Corn> 1 Can green chiles> 1-2 can(s) chicken (depends if your family likes the canned chicken or > not.)> 1 can chicken broth> 1/4 cup of dried onion flakes> 1-2 tbsp of Cumin (Put one in and taste it and if it needs more put > the other tbsp in)> 1 tbsp garlic minced or paste in a jar.> > Turn stove on high, Put all ingredients, not drained, in a large pot. > Stir. Let come to a boil. Reduce heat to half and simmer for 15 min.> > Dude up the soup with a dollop of sour cream, mozzarella cheese, an > Ritz Crackers.> > Enjoy!!!>

Soup is good this time of year and easy and very satisfying!

Christmas Party 2008

Dad and I attended the Sargent Steam Christmas Party at the Left Fork Grill on 39th street in Salt Lake on a very stormy evening! It was a nice time and we are opening our gifts from the owners which was some Christmas serving dishes! Dad had prime rib and I had halibut with a crispy parmesean coating . The food was delicous and company very good .

I am privileged to associate with good people who really are my mentors and friends!

There were about 20 people including spouses! Joyce my boss and Alex her hubby are just to the right of me.

" Fall and its Wonders!"

This is our beautiful black walnut tree. This is what happened in one week ..all leaves have dropped including alot of walnuts. Our neighbor says he finds our nuts in his yard and of course the crows and magpies are to blame as they visit us each fall !

The leaves were thick and we found our hometeacher out rakiing our leaves twice this week along with the neighbors , Marcus and Yvettte...what a scheme they had .It was so nice..many thanks to them!

Whitney and I had a breadmaking session today..I used my Champ mixer and she slaved it out

A Hard Days Work

It was a lovely day to work hard. Grandpa hauled wood from a trailer full of scrap lumber and some split logs to our woodshed for our winter supply! While he did that , I baked 10 loaves of wheat bread , steam cleaned the bathrooms ,dusted, vaccumed, and got the house ready for the Sabbath Day! We were very tired when we rested and decided to watch Pirates of the Carribean! Of course we can't remember parts of the movie as our eyes closed for a brief rest!

We attended a mini Beutler reunion in August and the highlight was to swim in the Canal , which Grandpa quickly did with Sully Beutler tagging along ..it was fun to see all the kids and adults enjoying the fun .They floated about 1/2 mile!

May 28th I visited Sid and Dan in Washington and spent time with the kids and with little baby Lucas. He was a sweet little guy. I loved to hold him.

Last week we said goodbye to Uncle Ross McMullin, 92 years old, who was the last sibling of Grandma Williams. He lived in California with his son ,Duane and wife Debby. Aunt Ida passed away 10 months ago and they had lived in South Jordon for many years.
These are their 4 sons Paul, Ross, Duane, and Colin. One son , Verdon passed away nearly 4 years ago. It was a great time of reunion and visiting and renewing the great heritage we have , coming from Bryant Ross McMullin and Martha Minerva Ellis.
Out of the 7 children of Bryant and Minerva , 5 families were represented to support our cousins!
We are so blessed as a family to come from strong family stock !

Woman conference 2008

"Awake, and Arise and Come Unto Christ" was the theme for this years Conference. It was good to be with Sherry , Mindi and Jackie for another 3 days of being filled up by the Spirit and good company! We stayed in Heritage Halls and attended the Instant choir , particpated in "Make the Pathway Bright " service which for Sherry and I , filling Hygiene Kits for Humanitarian Center. we got about 300 filled in the service line we were in ! Our concert included Kenneth Cope, Michael Mclean, Hillary Weeks , Men from Tabernacle Choir singing , "called to serve"live from tabernacle, Eclipse and some new artists. It was a fun evening and two full days! Friday after the conference , we slipped out to the theater and saw " Emma Smith Her Story" which was very good. AH ! it was too short and very wonder ful to hear great messages from Sherry Dew, Sister Julie Beck , President Monson and others!

The best part was to be with Sherry ..We are truly sisters!

Easter Sunday with the Family!

Today has been a lovely day with some of the family here for the day. We had a good day worshiping at church and a bunch of naps and good food prepared and eaten. We certainly miss those who were not here with us and all those wonderful grandkids!
Spring is here and the flowerbeds are cleaned up and ready for bulbs , weeds , grass or whatever gets there first. Actually, we are going to have a rose garden again along the back fence. I look forward to putting that together!
Actually , we have felt the message of Easter, the Atonement of the Savior , Jesus Christ.
We are so grateful for that blessing in our lives! Happy Easter!

The Weekend Getaway with Alan & Venice!

Over the March 9th weekend, dad and I slipped away to Island Park with Alan and Venice.We had not been there since August.
It was a beautiful weekend with sun shining and a little snow melting . Actually we went there to finish the hand rail going up to the guest house and to have a movie marathon! We watched 7 A&E movies "Horatio Hornblower " and just relaxed.
We were just sitting down to breakfast , when who should knock at the door,but Ann and Kerry who were on their way to Billings .They had not made it around the first corner and were stuck up the road Never did we think that anyone would bring a 5th wheel motor home up those canyon like roads! we welcomed and fed them and helped pull them out of a few more corners back to the Highway. It was a fun to see them as they had been snowbirds for 6 weeks.
We did drive around a bit , saw a moose, people ice fishing , went to church , and just enjoyed being away ! Some stats from up there. The record snowfall is 350 inches ,and as of that weekend they had 295 inches . Amazing!

Today Almie and I went to see Baby Rease, down in Draper and had just a fantastic time. She gave us our first smile and we loved playing and talking with Josh, Natalie, and Joe.
